Lipstick
Because now I use lipstick, I researched some facts about it…
I wasn’t planning about knowing some facts about this
product, but then my math teacher once told our class something about that so I
got curious!
And now I’m sharing it to you! (^_^)
Lipstick contains wax, oils, antioxidants and emollients.
The following are the commonly used ingredients in making lipstick:
Wax!
Provides structure to the solid lipstick.
Sample of this are:
- Beeswax
- Ozokerite
- Candelilla Wax
- Carnauba Wax
Oils!
The commonly used oils are:
- Olive oil
- Mineral oil
- Cocoa butter
- Lanolin
- Petrolatum
Emollients!
Matte lipsticks contain more filling agents like silica but do not have many emollients. Creme lipsticks contain more waxes than oils. Sheer and long lasting lipstick contain a lot of oil, while long lasting lipsticks also contain silicone oil, which seals the colors to the wearer's lips. Glossy lipstick contain more oil to give a shiny finish to the lips. Shimmery lipstick may contain mica, silica, fish scales, and synthetic pearl particles to give them a glittery or shimmering shine.

Those listed above are just the basic contents of a lipstick. But did you know that a lipstick also contains some ingredients that can give certain effects to our body?
But then again, there are those organic ones you can use that is far safer than any regular one.
I checked out this site that tells more reason why use organic lipstick...
